🚀 The Opportunity
A fast-growing Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a major pipeline across Texas is hiring a Grid Connection Manager to take strategic ownership of interconnection across its wind, solar and BESS portfolio.
This is a business-critical role at the heart of project bankability, investment decisions and delivery timelines. You will lead grid strategy across multiple technologies in one of the most competitive power markets globally.
🔌 Key Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end interconnection strategy for wind, solar & BESS projects
• Lead all applications and processes with ERCOT
• Manage queue strategy, screening studies, feasibility, SIS & facilities studies
• Oversee load flow, short-circuit & stability studies with consultants and utilities
• Identify and mitigate grid-related technical, commercial & programme risks
• Work closely with Development, Commercial, Finance, EPC & M&A teams
• Support capex forecasting, project valuations & investment committee approvals
• Represent the business with utilities, ISOs, regulators & technical counterparties
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile
• 5–10+ years’ experience in grid interconnection / power systems / renewables
• Strong hands-on experience within ERCOT or US ISO/RTO environments
• Direct project exposure to wind, solar and/or BESS interconnections
• Strong technical understanding of substations, transmission systems & grid studies
• Commercially aware — understands how grid risk impacts returns & bankability
• Comfortable in fast-growth, IPP or PE-backed development platforms
